Manfrotto 502AH Pro Video Fluid Head – Flat Base

A professional fluid video head designed for filmmakers who need smooth, controlled camera movement without renting a complete tripod system.

The Manfrotto 502AH features a flat 75mm base, continuously adjustable fluid drag on both pan and tilt, a fixed counterbalance system and a long sliding quick-release plate for balancing different camera configurations.

FLAT BASE = MAXIMUM FLEXIBILITY

Unlike a traditional bowl-mounted video head, the 502AH uses a flat base.

This makes it especially useful with:

• Custom camera rigs

The flat-base design lets the head move between different support systems much more easily.

VARIABLE FLUID DRAG

Both pan and tilt use Manfrotto’s continuously adjustable fluid drag system.

You can reduce resistance for quicker movements or increase drag for slower, more controlled cinematic pans and tilts.

FIXED COUNTERBALANCE

The 502AH features a fixed 4kg counterbalance system at a 55mm center of gravity, designed to help control common video camera and accessorized DSLR/mirrorless setups.

CAMERA PAYLOAD

Manfrotto currently lists a 10kg UNI/PdR safety payload, while also publishing a 6kg traditional safety payload figure for the standalone head.

For rental purposes, we recommend using the head with properly balanced compact and mid-sized camera rigs rather than treating the maximum number as a target.

504PLONG SLIDING PLATE

The included Manfrotto 504PLONG sliding plate allows the camera to move forward and backward on the head for proper balance.

Camera mounting supports both:

• 1/4"-20
• 3/8"-16

The sliding system is especially useful when changing lenses, batteries, matte boxes or other accessories that alter the camera’s center of gravity.

ACCESSORY MOUNTING

Integrated 3/8" Easy Link mounting points allow accessories such as monitors or small arms to be mounted directly to the head.
