SmallRig FreeBlazer AD100 Heavy-Duty Carbon Fiber Video Tripod System
A professional heavy-duty video support system designed for cinema cameras, fully rigged mirrorless setups and larger production builds.
The SmallRig FreeBlazer combines lightweight carbon fiber legs with a professional fluid video head, 75mm bowl, mid-level spreader and fast one-step leg locking system.
It is a substantial step up from lightweight travel tripods when stability, payload capacity and controlled camera movement matter.
HEAVY-DUTY CAMERA SUPPORT
The FreeBlazer system is designed to support substantially larger camera configurations than lightweight video tripods.
SmallRig rates the complete system for camera setups up to approximately 10kg / 22lb, making it suitable for:
- Cinema cameras
- Fully rigged mirrorless cameras
- Matte boxes
- V-mount batteries
- Wireless video systems
- Follow focus systems
- Larger cinema lenses
- Production monitors
The included fluid head is rated for up to approximately 8kg / 17.6lb.
PROFESSIONAL FLUID HEAD
The included heavy-duty video head provides smooth controlled pan and tilt movement with adjustable damping and counterbalance.
Features include:
- 360° pan movement
- +90° / -60° tilt range
- Adjustable pan damping
- Adjustable tilt damping
- Adjustable counterbalance
- Telescopic pan handle
- Bubble level
- Accessory mounting thread
This makes the FreeBlazer suitable for everything from locked-off interviews to controlled cinematic pans and tilts.
75MM BOWL SYSTEM
The 75mm bowl lets you level the camera quickly without individually adjusting every tripod leg.
For production environments and uneven ground, this is significantly faster and more convenient than a traditional flat-base photography tripod.
FAST ONE-STEP LEG LOCKING
The FreeBlazer uses SmallRig’s one-step locking system, allowing multiple leg sections to be released or locked quickly from a single control.
That means faster setup and pack-down when moving between shots or locations.
WORKING HEIGHT
The complete FreeBlazer system provides approximately:
- Minimum working height: 94cm / 37"
- Maximum working height: 197cm / 78"
- Folded length: 99cm / 39"
- System weight: approximately 5kg / 11lb
The nearly 2-meter maximum height gives you substantially more flexibility than compact travel systems.
CARBON FIBER CONSTRUCTION
The tripod legs are built from carbon fiber, providing high rigidity without the weight penalty of an equivalent heavy-duty aluminum system.
Despite its production-oriented capacity, the full system remains portable enough for location work.
QUICK RELEASE SYSTEM
The head uses a Manfrotto-style quick-release system and also supports quick switching with selected DJI RS-series plates.
Compatible options include:
- Standard 501PL-style plate
- DJI RS 2
- DJI RS 3
- DJI RS 3 Pro
This can make switching between tripod and gimbal configurations considerably faster.
MID-LEVEL SPREADER
The integrated mid-level spreader improves stability while still allowing the tripod to adapt to uneven surfaces and production environments.
Removable wide feet and spikes allow the tripod to be configured for different terrain.
